Red Black And Gray Area Rugs can be used in many ways, both decorative and practical. Although I'm going to give out some tips about how to decorate a living room with area rugs, they are only suggestion; it is all up to you to decide want to use any of it or not or you may come up with one that suit you the most.

Depending on the area rug's size, they can be used to create focal point to highlight something in a living room like table, chair, sofa, TV set, etc., with a smaller sized rug. Whereas larger area rugs are usually 6'X9', 8'X10', 9'X12' and 12'X15' in size, these area rugs can also be used to decorate a living room by itself or used to define an area in a house; we can place a set of sofa together with coffee tables on top of it, creating a beautiful focal point.

It is best to measure our living room space before we purchase anything from a shop; we would want to purchase a rug that fits our room space, not too big and not too small depending what we are going to use it. We can try to simulate the actual space consumed by placing a tape, book, bottle, etc., which indicate each corner of a rug. If we plan to place furniture on top, then we can use the same method to do so, especially when we want to place larger furniture like living room furniture like coffee table and sofa. This will make sure that we will get an area rug with the size that meets our requirement and also avoiding hassles brought from buying the wrong rug.

When we are placing our rugs, we need be aware of places or areas with higher traffic. Try not to place the area rug corner or edge in the middle of this high traffic walkway; they could bring serious tripping and we might be one of the victim someday. Also take note of places or areas close to a door; we need to check whether the door underneath has enough space for our rugs, otherwise it will spoil our rugs in the long run. When placing a larger rug, try to leave some spaces around 1 to 2 feet between the wall or end of the floor for floor exposure, this will make the room looks larger.
